Scribophile: A new concept of editing

by - April 16, 2014

Hello everyone,

I stumbled across this website called SCRIBOPHILE, and I knew I had to share it with you.

The website works as a story share. You make your very own profile, upload your stories, and wait for other writers to read it and review it. But it's not just rainbows and unicorns. To upload each part of your story, you'll need at least 5 Karma Points. And what in the world are Karma Points, you might ask.

Before you can upload ANY story/chapter/part to your profile, you'll need to critique someone else's work, this allowing you to get those juicy Karma Points, and finally, later, upload your own work.

It's very easy to use Scribophile, and there are many Critique options. You can edit word by word, make a general critique, or just leave a nice and polite comment.

When you get those 5 KP, you upload your work, wait for others to read it, and cross your fingers that it's really that good as you always suspected it was. But worry not, people at Scribophile are wise, nice and, most of all, POLITE! They'll gladly help you edit your story, so you can learn from it.

You can also join some of the groups, workshops and forums. There are millions of different tips from more experienced writers, and you can actually learn something from them.

I was very fortunate to have tripped on Scribophile, and I advise you all amateur younglings to take time to join the network.

Happy Readings,
Sophie
